You did right in solving the quitaadrc equation. You might not be acquainted with simplifying fractions that has square roots in it. So the problem lies therein. What is sqrt 24a^2 ?Break it up into sqrt4a and sqrt6a. If you like, multiply them together back and you will get sqrt24^2.And what is sqrt4a? It\'s 2a. You can\'t square root 6 to get an exact integer, so leave it as sqrt6a.And that\'s the trick to simplify a square root.So you have -8a +/- 2a x sqrt6a all over 4a^2Now factorise the numerator 2a(-4 +/- sqrt6a) all over 4a^2= -4 +/- sqrt6a all over 2aThere.
